HISTORY
Alliance was founded in 1993 by Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti, Fabio Gurgel, Alexandre Paiva and Fernando Gurgel. Alliance is recognized as one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Schools in the world; known not only for their technicality and quality, but also for their professionalism. Alliance has made hundreds of World Champions, over 25 of them at the black belt level. We now have over 150 affiliated schools spread throughout Brazil and the World. No matter where you are, you can train at an Alliance facility.

3RD DEGREE BLACK BELT
Professor Elias Gallegos began his training in 1996 after meeting legendary BJJ instructor Fabio Santos (Red and Black belt under Rolls and Rickson Gracie). It was here at The Fabio Santos Academy that he would make lifelong friends and training partners, most notably Dean Lister (3X ADCC world champion and UFC veteran Pride Veteran.) Elias is a founding member of the Lister fight Team. In 2004 Elias Gallegos was presented with the Brown Belt from professor Fabio Santos (having gone from white to brown with Professor Santos), and in 2007 he was presented with the prestigious Black Belt from World Champion Dean Lister. In 2010, he began training under the watchful eye of multiple time WORLD CHAMPION master Royler Gracie and in 2014 received his 2nd degree on his black belt from master Royler. Professor Elias has been the head instructor at a number of successful academies and gyms in the San Diego area. He has run programs for The Lister Fight Team, Lava Sports and Fitness (which featured 3 academies), The Boxing Club, and Throwdown/Victory MMA and Fitness. He is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor with over 19 years of training and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under his belt. In all of the competitions he has entered he has never placed lower than 3rd in his division. He is a VULKAN OPEN champion, NABJJF North American Champion, and a BRONZE medalist at the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS (IBJJF NOGI) as well as a Silver Medalist at the IBJJF Nationals. Professor Gallegos has also studied boxing, as well as Sambo, Greco Roman Wrestling, Catch Wrestling, and Judo. He believes that jiu-jitsu is first and foremost a martial art for self-defense and runs one of the only academies in San Diego that actually teaches jiu jitsu for both sport and self defense.
Professor Elias runs two successful community programs at the academy as well. The first being a program for veterans with PTSD and the second being the SDPD diversion program. He allows veterans with PTSD to train for free to help cope with all they are dealing with. The diversion program aims to keep kids out of the legal system by giving them six weeks to stay clean and out of trouble. if they successfully complete this program they are kept out of the system and awarded a lifetime membership at Alliance Eastlake.
He graduated in 2005 with two degrees from Berean College in Poway, Californi (Theology/Counseling) and is married to Rosario Gallegos, they have two kids Elijah Hunter (12) and Noah Ryder (9)
